Trelogue Privacy Policy
For the iPhone and iPad versions of Trelogue
Last updated: March 28, 2026
Welcome to Trelogue, referred to in this policy as the "App." We understand the importance of privacy and aim to handle your data in a clear, limited, and verifiable way. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you use the App, how that information is used, and how you can manage related permissions and data.
1. Information We Process
To provide travel bookkeeping, image processing, location-based records, and multi-device sync features, the App only processes information that is necessary for those purposes:
- Photos and image content: When you choose to take a picture of a receipt, add a travel image, select an image from your photo library, generate a sticker, or export content, the App may access the camera or photo library after you grant permission. These images are used only for the workflows you initiate, such as AI cutout, sticker generation, expense recording, and export previews.
- Ledger and expense record information: This includes the amount, currency, category, note, time, location name, cover image, and other travel-related content that you enter yourself. This information is used to create, display, search, summarize, and export your ledgers.
- Location information: When you actively use a location-related feature while creating or editing an expense, or when you enable location recording in the relevant screens, the App may access your current location after permission is granted. This may include coordinates and the resolved place name. The information is used to fill in the location of an expense, display place information inside your ledger, and support features such as the travel footprints map. The App does not continuously collect location in the background without your authorization.
- Sync and device environment information: To support iCloud sync, cross-device recovery, troubleshooting, and interface adaptation, the App may read non-directly-identifying information related to your device and system environment, such as the system version, device model, language setting, Storefront, or iCloud availability. This information is mainly used for compatibility and stability checks and is generally not enough to identify you on its own.
- No developer account registration is required: The App does not require you to create a developer-owned account. Unless you choose to contact us by email, we do not actively collect your name, phone number, email address, or other directly identifying personal information.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide core features such as travel bookkeeping, sticker generation, ledger management, exchange-rate conversion, location records, map footprints, and export or sharing features.
- To enrich expense records with images, place details, or other context when you explicitly authorize those features.
- To let you keep your data on your device or in your personal iCloud account so it can sync and recover across your Apple devices.
- To perform necessary debugging, compatibility improvements, and user experience optimization. We do not use your ledger content for ad targeting or marketing profiling.
3. Permissions We May Request
- Camera permission: Used to photograph receipts, expense proofs, or other images that you want to store in a ledger.
- Photo library permission: Used to select images from the system photo library or save generated content when you choose to export or store it.
- Location permission: Used to record where an expense happened, fill in the place name, and support map-based features such as travel footprints.
You can revoke these permissions at any time in iOS or iPadOS Settings. If you do, the related features may stop working, but the rest of the App's core functionality will remain available.
4. Storage and Protection of Information
- Your ledger data is generally stored on your local device or in your own personal iCloud account, depending on your sync settings and usage.
- We do not upload your ledgers, images, expense records, or location records to a developer-operated server for long-term storage.
- If you uninstall the App, local data may be removed. If you use iCloud, retained synced data is subject to Apple's iCloud mechanisms and your account status.
- We take reasonable product and engineering measures to protect your data, but you should also protect your device, Apple ID, and exported files appropriately.
5. Sharing and Third-Party Processing
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share your ledger content for advertising monetization. However, limited third-party processing may occur in the following cases:
- Apple services: If you enable iCloud sync or complete a subscription or purchase through the App Store, the related data and transactions are processed through Apple's infrastructure.
- AI or image-processing services: If you actively use AI cutout, image recognition, or similar intelligent features, the relevant image or a necessary portion of it may be temporarily transmitted to a third-party service provider for processing. We aim to limit the scope of transmission and require providers to process the data only as needed to fulfill that request.
- Map or geocoding services: If you use place resolution, reverse geocoding, or map display features, necessary location data may be processed through Apple Maps or system location services.
- Legal obligations: We may disclose necessary information when required by applicable law, legal process, or a lawful request from an administrative authority.
6. Children's Privacy
If you are a minor, we recommend using the App under the guidance of a parent or legal guardian. If a guardian believes that a minor provided relevant information without fully understanding the implications, please contact us using the information below and we will handle the matter as promptly as reasonably possible after verification.
7. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the App's features, the scope of permissions, or applicable laws and regulations change. If an update involves a material change, we will communicate it through an in-app notice, page announcement, or another reasonable method. The updated version takes effect on the date it is published.
